Invisible Battle

Have you ever had an invisible fight?
Face your enemy in the darkest of nights
I've been forced to do it on a daily basis
I imagine fighting  many different faces
At least for now, they say it can’t be cured,
I couldn’t have imagined what I’ve already endured.
It's an unfair event, and the odds are stacked,
Not knowing which direction to expect the attack
Guaranteed to be exhausting on more than one level,
Physically, emotionally, hell, you're fighting the devil
Other than regularly checking your pulse,
Don't expect to see any other results
Even the battle status depends on your mindset
Clearly there's no obvious victory yet
Maybe I'm winning, I am still living
Absorbing all the punches thart she's giving
Maybe I'm losing, I'm unable to walk away
Fact is, we delay it, but at the end of the day
The final knockout approaches, details unknown
And accept the assault although it's not shown
Sometimes, you may even catch a glimpse of this bitch
Not really beneficial, just means you need to switch
To a safer, quieter, more secluded domain,
Last thing you need is being thought as insane
Invisibility itself, certainly gains the upper hand
But I quietly object and firmly take a stand
I must admit, that's quite the power
I refuse, however, to duck and cower
If I ultimately lose this long, painful war,
I'll never forget what I'm really fighting for
