Loneliness is a heavy shroud,
Layers upon layers, an isolating cloud,
A silent, suffocating, solitary maze,
Self-imposed, alone, lost in a daze.
Solitude comes and stays in abandoned
places it does attend.
Lonely all day and night.
Shunned away from others in sight.
An island deemed a wretched fate.
Survival with sanity at stake.
Isolation devours the soul.
Confinement is taking its toll.
