It.

It happens in a moment.
One minute you're fine the next, you're gasping for air.
You feel like you're barely breathing.
Your head is fuzzy, your chest in pain.
Something made you remember the past in which you're ashamed.
The momentary memory takes your breath away and suddenly you are back to that very same day.
The day you were hurt, or abandoned, or shamed.
The day your childhood was taken away.
And then it's gone, the moment is over
But your chest Is still heavy and your eyes are bewildered.
The people around you, they dont understand.
They believe its controllable, it only takes a command.
But it's not, it doesn't work that way.
Your mind and thoughts, you're unable to sway.
When anxiety and depression overtake your mind, your control, joy, and peace is harder to find.
So what do you do besides act okay, when all you can think of is what it has taken away?
