I have a voice inside my head
but it is not my own.
It hides within my memories
and claims them as it's home.
It tells me to do awful things
to others and myself.
It says my life is nothing
and my existence is merely filth.
It screams at me as I try to sleep.
Reminds me of my flaws.
It repeats itself until I'm deaf
from the chilling, ghostly calls.
No matter how I drown the sound,
the voice is from within.
It stays with me both night and day
and drives my mind to sin.
It demands I give it sacrifice.
It drunkens off my pain.
The scars it leaves, they purify
like a corpse within the rain.
I have a voice inside my head
but it is not my own.
It will follow me until my death,
no matter where I roam.
