'It Must Be The Shoes'

I got pairs for different occasions.
I don't put them on for stares, but to get to locations.
I work food service, so I got my non-slip resistance.
Waterproof with the cushioned-sole, to travel through any weather instance.
I used to run the 400 & 800 meters, but I could've done it without track cleats.
However I didn't have a sprinter's speed or cross-country tenacity outside the track meet.
I've had little regard for my feet on the basketball court.
Because there were times that I still wore out defenders, even with footlockers on I ran at high torque.
My job requires my attendance, even in the middle of a blizzard.
So I strap my boots on tight & truck my way to the bus stop, looking forward to a waffle with a little bit of syrup.
The most comfortable sneakers are usually lowest to the floor.
An uneven foot can cause long-term damage & hurt you at the core.
I think of a person's pride, like that of a highheel.
Strictly for show, tipped on their toes with their calf muscle looking like fly steel.
The peace that surpasses understanding, is likened to bulletproof combat boots in the midst of war.
Feet protected, comfortable fit & secure.
The challenge of being a recluse, a writer & orator..
..Is the restraint of over-excitement, self-indictment & feeling insecure.
I live life symbolic to footwear.
Deciphering between my purpose or just being used, but I risked to put myself out there.
My heart is still beating with every step I take.
My mind travels with a jetpack beneath it's feet, scorched by another concept, with every poetic rep I make.
