New land; new opportunities
That's what they say
But was the search for something new ever really the answer?
Or was it that happiness could have just been found from the start?
I rather enjoy the idea happiness is a journey
And my real home is mapped out to my heart
Day 1.
Arriving in Bangkok, Thailand.
No mobile data. Using this moment in the in wifi to capture a post. I'm not sure where the train station is, but that is where I need to go. The plane trip on China Airlines was pretty amazing. Refreshing; not like those Western airlines that DON'T serve you hot tea. Also, I met a very pleasant woman from Taipei traveling on the plane ride with me.
Without me even asking, she was very nice and offered me all the info her and her family had about Thailand. Another reason of evidence I'd have to say this journey to Thailand is a blessing. Sometimes it seems it's these little things that follow the decisions we make through faith that tell us we are on the right path. Who on Earth knows for sure? But what we do know is that through faith, anything is possible.
So here goes nothing.
Now I'm ready. Time to wander about Bangkok like a creepy, touristy, nomadic wanna be, fool. Just the way I imagined it to be. I have what feels like a 100 lb duffle bag I'm carrying on foot; (no wheels, cause that's how I roll) which is good, cause my legs could use the exercise. Really it's just 40 lbs though, and my legs are really scrawny. How I'm carrying myself and my luggage around town, I'm basically calling out to all around me "hey, come mug me." But what those muggers don't realize is I'm a highly competent, first (imaginary) class Wing Chun marital artist. I have officially watched 4 Ip Man movies now; one, hot off the plane ride over here. So all I'll say is, if anyone messes with me, they'll never see my raw, untamed potential coming. ;P like... never.
So here's to making it through the first day... so far.
Next destination: Chiang Mai.
And in case I actually have anyone following my tracks through this feed and are planning to ambush me up ahead... I meant Chiang Rai. Yeah, that's it...
Well... I guess it takes the same train route to get to either of those places... so... *finger snap*, danggg. (except I have no thumbs)
Here's to being a fool, at your service.
