It's not popular going against the grain,
To stand up for what you believe,
But I have to speak my truth,
Even if it's met with disbelief.
People may question and doubt,
And say that I'm misguided,
But I know I'm on the right path,
Even if it's not well-trodden or tried.
It takes courage to forge ahead,
Following a path that's less taken,
To embrace my own unique ideas,
And have my own values unshaken.
So I'll continue walking my road,
Even if it's a solitary one,
For I know my convictions and beliefs,
And that's what helps me stay strong.
