POEM: 'Jealousy'
Jealousy!
It has left men bleeding, women frustrated and communities divided.
Jealousy!
It has left brothers killed, sisters betrayed, and homes in asunder.
Jealousy!
It has led leaders crippled, followers deformed and societies battered.
Jealousy!
It has made wives divorced, husbands displaced and towns abandoned.
Jealousy!
It has increased hypocrisy, fermented gossips, and destroyed worthy relationships.
Jealousy!
It has fused trust, strengthened lies, and hindered cooperation.
Jealousy!
It has bred marginalization, worsen intimidation, and boosted rejection.
Jealousy!
It has traded enviousness, deepened grudges, and mounted separations.
Jealousy!
It has sodomized sex, westernized love, and Africanized romance.
Jealousy!
It has swollen prisons, courts full, and crimes promoted.
Jealousy!
It has made Judges richer, Lawyers Squanderers, and clients poorer.
Jealousy!
It has made houses empty, homes bankrupt and graveyards full.
Jealousy!
It has burnt bridges, widened gaps, and advertised malice.
Jealousy!
It has dried up wealth, melted fame, and expanded hardship.
Jealousy!
It has driven peace, welcome war, and cemented conflict.
Jealousy!
It has taught divide, preached arrogance, and dramatized laziness.
Jealousy!
Oh, jealousy! Are you a friend or a drowning foe on a joy killing mission?
Jealousy!
Oh, jealousy! Are you a bridge or a plundering vulture to get bridges burnt?
Jealousy!
Oh, jealousy! Are you a redeemer or the very enemy to get us down?
Jealousy!
Oh, jealousy! I know your true figure; you ain't in for any good but depression.
Jealousy!
Oh, jealousy! Depart and have no place, for my heart lacks your accommodation.
