Before we even met I knew
that for me it was always you.
In a land far away across the sea,
I knew you were waiting for me.
Just like I stared at the starry view,
in my dark, little cave, waiting for you.
When I first saw you, I couldn't believe my eyes,
like an angel so serene, like a goddess, wise,
your embrace gave home to my wandering soul,
my existence has you, playing the biggest role.
Just like your hands wiping my tears away
and your lips smiling for me everyday.
But the church bells never rang before and isn't going to ring this time,
for the blindfold of hatred that they're wearing
has turned love into a crime.
Nothing has changed in all these years
all things are just the same,
the poisoned hearts still rule over the world
where we're called disgrace and shame.
They captured us, they tortured us,
they tried to keep us apart.
But I knew that it was all in vain,
for we were never to part.
'You and me against the world' we said,
holding each other's hands,
but I saw you getting lost somewhere
in time's deep and vast sands.
And they still believe that they have won
but trust me love, they haven't,
for there's no way in which by killing
one can live a life that's pleasant.
And don't think we have lost, my love
for this is not the end.
We will surely meet again someday
with lots of love to spend.
Look at me, my love
from wherever that you dwell,
we will reunite one day,
be it in heaven or in hell.
And we must not be afraid, mi amor
for we have love in our heart,
and no amount of hatred,
can keep us apart.
But I'm prepared to end this all, my love
I'm prepared to leave this place,
with your impression in my heart and soul
with pride, and with grace.
Keep the door ajar, my love,
for I'm nearing my last breath
I'm nearing you so that we could be
Joined in Life and Joined in Death.
