JOURNEY OF MANY ROADS
The journey of life is never smooth or mild—
Some tread paths lit with joy and love’s warm smile,
Some wander wide, through shadows and through light,
Seeking why we breathe, and what gives life its weight.
Some drown deep in loneliness and regret,
Their hearts like stones where bitter waters set;
Some take each day as if it were their last,
Living in the now, held fast and steadfast.
Some rush headlong, unafraid of death’s cold door,
Some hunger for gold, for power and more—
Yet each of us bears a compass of our own,
To find fullness in a world we call “unknown.”
