finding comfort in his dark skies,
the frigid air and how it took my breath away
days went by as he grew stronger
embracing me now with fierce winds and thundering rain,
wrecking everything in his path, unapologetically making his presence known, i'll never forget
i watched as everyone ran for cover while i simply stood in place
paying no mind to reason
ignoring my instincts and the advice of friendly passerbys
i welcomed the storm with open arms and a warm smile
