An old man across the street from me
Died the other day
I didn't know him too well
But when i seen him i still made sure i said hey
Everybody getting hurt
And putting the world to blame
When really they should be living their life
Like it's just another day
Now we all know it's time for a change
But if we keep doing what were doing
We're just going to continue to live the same
All the hate we have for eachother
Man why can't we just live in peace and harmony
And love one another
God put us down here
So we can live and be free
Why is everybody taking it for granted
And just wanting to get their birds and bees
And commit their stupid felonies
Why are we living our lifes with all this greed
Just wanting to get money by any damn means
Man this shits so silly to me
I bet you God's looking down in disbelief
Shaking His head and kneeling down to His knees
Maybe one day we'll all wake up
And this will all just be a dream
And we'll be in Heaven
And realize what we had
Really was a blessin'
But know that it's gonna' be all okay
Because if one of us does our part
Than the world is going to change a little everyday
We just gotta' keep our heads held high
And no matter how we may feel inside
We just gotta' find the will to fight through
And don't listen to what all them other fools
Are telling you to do
Because once you cross that line
It's just so hard to get back
And you know that they are going to try and put you away for whatever they can
And that's a matter of fact
Because we all know if men were Angels
There wouldn't be no government
So we just gotta' sit back and relax
And don't get caught up in a predicament
Because once you go down that road
You better never let go
There isn't anybody to pull you back
Only He can say so
And even bad guys seem to find God on their own
Living your life with your head in the clouds
Man brother don't you feel just a little bit too proud
Because everybody needs help every now and again
'Cause sooner or later your just gonna' be
Committing another dirty sin
'Cause nobody knows what to tell you
And God can't say it to your face
And I'm just one man trying to stand ten toes tall
And live in a better grace
So the only thing i can say is
Do whatever you know is the way to go
To find your stairway to Heaven
Because there's no greater blessin'
But to be up there sitting on a cloud tellin'
How love is really supposed to be
In the beautiful world
God meant for us to see
But it's funny 'cause not even He
Can make us truly believe
That there still is rules
To living our lifes oh so careless
And what's supposed to be worry free
Maybe one day we'll all wake up
And this will all just be a dream
