Just For Tonight, No More

John's worked hard all week
Thinks, "Damn I need a drink"
As he puts on his coat
Going out to his car
John remembers a bar
Though on the outskirts of town
It really wasn't all that far.
With his wife outta town
Visiting some family
His bed will be cold tonight
John wanted a "bed warmer,"
Back in days long time passed
He was quite the charmer
Wonders if it'll be that way again,
He sees the bar just ahead
Called the "Dues Drop Inn"
It's motto, "Get drunk tonight, but,
Remember to come back again"
As John reads the sign
A smile crosses his face
Mumbles quietly to himself
This was his kind of place.
With confidence John walks in
Loving the country music playing loud
Eyeing the ladies with short shorts
My my my the hottest in town,
A cutie approaches him
"Care to do the two step?"
"Maybe even some Boot Scooting?"
They went onto the sawdust floor
Joined the Hollering and Hooting.
After a dance and drink or three
They went to sit and talk
Decided to go in cool air outside
Take a walk 'neath the moon and star's
As they walked hand in hand
She asked, "Come here often?"
"Once or twice long time ago"
She "Looking for anyone special?"
Someone for tonight, no more.
Down the red dirt covered road
Was a "No tell motel" prefect for tonight
John booked a room for two
Mr and Mrs Why do you wanna know
They had bought a bottle from a bar
Had a drink or three or more
Snuggled on the worn out bed.
Before the bed warming began
John turned out the light.
You see that's how it goes
When it's Just For Tonight, No More
Yeah, Just For Tonight, No More
