Kairos
Dawn has arrived, the sun rays stretch over the horizon. My eyes are still trying to pull my warm quilt over them.I slide off my bed and slowly stagger to the kitchen and fill the kettle with water. The whistle of the kettle breaks the silence of my home and wakes my dogs.
I have my dry mug with earl grey teabag sitting staring at me from the table. I pour the steaming water into my mug and wonder off in thought as my tea steeps. My companions give me expectant eyes as they wait by the door. The sun starts to brighten as I finish my tea.
My companions expectant stare turns to one of glaring. They are tired of waiting. I bundle up in layers and crack the door to be welcomed by chickadees announcing the the sun has resin. The day is beginning bringing me to a state of idyllic comfort.
