Once a name of purity and grace,
Now a label that's hard to face.
Karen, once a simple name,
Now carries a burden of shame.
In the dictionary, it's defined,
As a white woman, entitled and unkind.
Demanding, beyond what's right,
Using privilege to win the fight.
But I'm not that Karen, can't you see?
I've never used my privilege, it's not me.
Yet my name paints an unfair picture,
Of someone I'm not, a negative fixture.
I'm white, middle-aged, and blonde,
But that doesn't mean I'm entitled and wronged.
I know how it feels to be judged,
But this runs deeper, it's a grudge.
So call me Kaz, its my nickname,
For Karen has brought too much shame.
I don't like my name anymore,
Another label I have to endure
