I tried, I really tried.
Anything I do wont be enough,
Everything I did surely wasn't.
You suffocate me like a fire trapped in cotton,
Beneath your broken grace, I seethe,
In my own smoke, I can't breathe,
And you seem to expect me to be able to save you.
I don't dislike you as you claim I do,
I only miss you and what we had,
I tried so hard to keep you alive,
Yet I'm so numb I couldn't see it changes nothing.
I was desired by you only for the comfort I can bring.
I'm sure you think I can't stand you,
I can't dismiss the jealousy that long ago stained me,
What beauty.
However, I won't change, not for you.
