There was once a young boy named kuro who lived in a small town surrounded by farm land, his father worked on a near by farm and his mother was a shoe maker, unfortunately they were very poor and didn't have the money for nice clothes so once a year his mother would make him a very special set of shoes and gave them to him on his birthday but never had any of her own, one year kuro asked his mother "mom, how come you don't wear shoes but I get new ones every year?" And his mother would always laugh and reply " why so you can run faster of course, now put them to good use and run along, you have chores" so he would put on his new shoes and go do his chores until he was finally old enough to get a job, it only paid 2 cents a day but in his mind it was worth it. Every day he would come home and put his 2 cents in a jar and his mom would ask "kuro, why do you put 2 cents in that jar everyday?" And he would smile and reply jokingly " I do it so I don't need anybody else's two cents" and run back out to do his chores. He did this every day until he had saved up $500 so he took his money and ran to the store and bought the best pare of shoes he could find, on his mother's 60th birthday he gave her the shoes and she asked "kuro what are these for?" And he replied "you gave me shoes every year but never had any, your feet have so many scars but still they are the most beautiful feet I've ever seen, they show how much you cared but it's my turn to earn my own scars"
