I needed to stand out

A simple gal like me
deserves to be seen
A natural beauty
With radiant and dark skin
I checked my closet, Oh no, I wonder
I am not used to parties, so this challenge is a bit tougher
Called my girl friends to help me with this
Girls came to the rescue, so lucky full of bliss
We tried on different dresses till the red gown made me shine
It's my mother's old outfit, Wow! it's so Divine!
I dashed to the venue and the moment I stepped in
Everybody was agape, I was totally the queen!
Some envious girls raised their eyebrows showing off their bling bling
The lady in red just flashed a smile
I took everything as they mean nothing
Simplicity and humility are the elements they were missing
With a kind heart and pure soul, you can conquer anything!
