E

LADY SHIRO.

She chose to be the still waters.
Whose surface was clear and adorable.
She allowed paperboats to float on her.
Capsized the canoes and ships.
Let the survivors swim to the shore.
She held onto the shipwreck beneath her.
Making it a new haven for sea creatures.
She stored her stories in oysters.
Which she occasionally swept to the shallow ends.
Her library was by the banks in shells.
Where revellers stopped by and picked each piece.
Lovers made bracelets out of them.
Lone wolves hang around their necks as totems.
Sometimes her waters were troubled.
Hitting against the rocks.
The days captain hook cast his net deep.
Sweeping the shoals and bragging of his great sea harvest.
The nights when the crows cawed in victory.
The whales wailed and seahorses galloped and hid in sea stables.
The day the waves kissed the setting sun and all was calm.
