Last Visit

We saw each other everyday,
Yet we chose to ignore,
Though I missed you a lot,
This cold mask I always  wore.
That  night you came to visit me,
But my ego seemed to win,
I didn't even spare you a glance,
How stupid I have been.
You hugged me and cried a lot,
But I chose to stay cold,
Only if I had paid a little attention,
To everything that you told.
You tried a lot but still left,
Without a single reply from me,
You wanted to clear the misunderstanding,
But I was busy proving how unbothered I could be.
The more I look back and think,
The more I regret it,
I had never even imagined,
It could be your last visit.
