He always came back late
Several hours past eight
For him she would eargerly wait
The meal would run cold , her arms on the couch she'd always fold
Dozzing off , her efforts never paying off
Opting to switch the lights off
From the conversantion he would ever keep off
His phone ever switched off
At two , at home not still yet
Sometimes came wet
Red marks on his shirt , her she would continuously hurt
In agony she had to wait
Can't remember the last time they ate together
For her he no longer had to bother
In his mind there was always another
Forgot he was already a father
With children who needed their father
Felt sad at the cry of their mother
His attention gave to another
His phone rings , she picks it up , a female voice
She fulfilled her obligations
Tolerated his complications
Believed his implications
He woke up to an empty room...
