laughters in the balmy night

laughters in the balmy night
revealed nymphs whooping in my sight
there was this maiden that came to me
and said, 'my fair, sweet boy come with me,
'and we will show you the mirth of life'
I only smiled and whispered 'life?
'can you tell me more about this book?
she said 'yes, down there in the happy brook'
'you could make a fairy page
'with the maidens of your sweet age
'come forth, she said 'sweet boy'
'and we will show you how to swim in joy;
but I knelt, my hand in wai
like a monk had done in my eye
and said 'serene be your soul, sunshine
'but with your sweet gesture seeming divine
'how come I this fate to meet?
'I am a writer, fairly tense and discreet
'and I have been dwelling in the page of life
'a child taught to believe ’life, a book of strife'
'where mortals are born in miseries
'fated with fate that defines our stories
'but what is it brought me here?
'what scenes am I seeing here
'that which in life I have not seen?
'what joy in this wood bear this lovely sheen
'that which in life I have never feel?
'yet, listen to these woodnotes seeming real,
'where are all whom I loved?
and as if she knew my pain she replied;
'what was it that gave you joy
'in that joyless world, holy boy?
'I only seek to guide your way to peace
'to make your woes surcease;
'you have suffered and being treated with contempt
'but joy is real in what you thought a tempt
'and life, alas, is too short
'to embrace the joy that hurts
'consent to me, fair scribbler
'and explore the mirth of your maker
'i know there were people that once promised you peace
'but ours is joy that defines peace
'consent to me, and bid your woes a longing farewell
and buying the rosy words I said, 'to tell,
'of my daring fright, I had dreaded you
'a being in a radiant wood with her crew
'sweet as joy when miseries were bade
'plunging in that brook divinely made,
'a home of peace hidden from mortals view
'where woes are condoned to start anew
'regardless of the wrongs of a soul
'but as a clueless, longing soul
'i'll swim with you to find my way
'hence this scene would fade away
'like you had promised my dear soul;
and I am led to her goal,
oh what ease was this!
what beauty heightened in these distance faces
to which they saw me coming by
what joy sprung in their waiting eye
with which they held me gazing on
beneath a tree where birds were singing on
one said, 'come and be my love forever'
another said, 'may this be our union, peter'
but I have a noble heart for love
yes, Mary was such a definer of love
who scarcely spend time on her own
till she made me fully her own.
'yes, in you Mary, I thought, 'I am lost
'with you only I douses my lust;
'in me, you said you find solace
'with me, you vowed to spend your days
'in the rain, we promised to shield ourselves
'in the sun, we promised to shield ourselves
'through the day, you said you will never sever
'through the night, I said I will be yours forever
'but now I am lost in the night
'while you are in the morning light
'we never wanted this severance
'but fate has me in this swimming grace
'amidst these ten strange faces
'forcing kisses on my lips.
then a hand tapped me among the beauties
one appearing to be in her twenties
she said, 'I read your thoughts
'you have no faults
'you are such a lady's dream
'staunch to the core of your Love's esteem
'yes, that we have known this about you
'as the nobler part of you
'but throw off this feelings
'and call out our moanings;
'give yourself to us
'and we will make you cross.
'but NO! I cried distressed
'i can't be a man on your bed!
then splash, splash I jumped out of the water
though I know not what to do later
but just then someone called my name
and I looked back to see Mary and the maidens laughing at me.
