I sat by laurels glow and yesterday was a flicker
Last eve, stratus swayed by like turfs of her hair
then today, stars beckoned and I remembered
Nature and her form are one, and am bewildered
April's oval beeched lime green, when she strolled away
Pur after Pur, paw after paw woe and woe
but tomorrow when a catbird perches by the laurel
and gurgles to her meow, I'll sing to her ply
And dance her love, like alder's catkins at play
But when the sky bundles and frowns
I'll be sorrow, all blues and pawn
to bear heaven's wrath on behalf
Until night dawn to day or heart tears to grief
and when east backdrops crimson
I'll sing meow! meow! meow!
and the horizon will echo my prayer
All where, just how much I've missed your stare
I'll sit by the laurel, while I wait time by and by
