Leaving Town

Leaving town without a frown, I'm sorry that I let you down. It's safe to say we're better now, our waves have washed away our doubts.
Letting go of who I was, before I start to feel numb. You're love is like my favorite drug, when sacrifice is not enough.
Taking time to understand that I set goals, yet have no plan. I'm getting used to letting go, cause misery is all I've known.
Still in the end I have a chance. For one last kiss, or one more dance. I've always tried to do my best, but finish last, cause life's a test.
I've come to see the truth in me, and learned that lies will make you bleed. Yet still there is serenity, it's hard to find when you're empty.
Amongst the weak, among the dead, we learn to lead and rise against. Forever young stuck in our hearts. But time is gone, tore us apart.
With calloused hands, and longing eyes, I've seen some things I can't deny. But beauty always hides behind, the people who've lived tragic lives.
I'd like to make some new mistakes, but karma's always in my way. I know that sounds like it's cliche, but it's the truth, at least I say.
Hanging on without a doubt, yet still it seems I'm grounded now. Leaving town without a frown, I'm sorry that I let you down.
