Lent's Gentle Call

Lent's Gentle Call
A quiet whisper, a sacred time,
A season of reflection, a holy climb.
Forty days to pause, to pray, to renew,
To seek the divine, in all we do.

Ashes mark the start, a humble sign,
Of mortality's thread, and grace divine.
Fasting hearts, and spirits bowed,
In Lent's embrace, we are avowed.

Through sacrifice, we find the way,
To cleanse the soul and light the gray.
Each act of love, each prayerful plea,
Draws us closer to eternity.

The desert's silence, the journey long,
Yet hope arises, steadfast and strong.
For beyond the cross, the promise gleams,
Of resurrection’s light and fulfilled dreams.

So let us walk this sacred road,
With lighter hearts and burdens slowed.
In Lent, we find the gift of grace,
God’s love eternal, a warm embrace.
