It is time for me to hibernate.
To say goodbye for now.
To curl up into a ball
In my own world somehow.
To dream of the spring and summer
As blossoms bloom anew.
And the perfume of the lavender
Drifts into view.
As i look around the darkness
I shiver for i am cold.
But know that i am safe from harm
And that i must be bold.
Tonight for maybe a month or more
I rest my weary head.
As i lay upon my pillow.
As i lay upon my bed.
The eerie sound of silence
Sings into my ears.
But i hear yet not one sound
before it disappears.
And now that i am hugged beneath my Blanket
The gentle caresses of the wool upon my skin.
Sings a lullaby to me
As it settles in.
My eyes now close as slumber falls.
And the harsh winter wind roars and bites.
I know not when i will awake
Or what will be in sight.
