let the music play....Big Brother

I wasn't ready for you to go you were my big brother and you will be forever but the morning that I got that call saying you had passed away all I could think about is the music we used to play I was five and you were 10 sometimes I wish we could go back in time and do it all over again your talent it was not wasted though you did not reach the Heights on this Earth that you desired I know that now that you're in heaven you have what is required you're sitting up there with the rest of those who were blessed with the gift to give from their souls to reach inside deep enough to create beats and tracks ...play the bassguitar 🎸 and the piano and bring people together with music that's what came from your heart see I knew you better then a lot of people think you are my big brother about 6 years older than me and here I am when I visit that place that six foot deep...the Place covered with grass and your plaque reeads... let The Music Play....I told them to put that on it because if you were still here you would do all that you could do to get to do what you love to do and that was music in some way shape or form of fashion I was so proud of my big brother when I was 10 and the entire band would come over and you would practice for hours young men growing up you did not need an adult you all knew your stuff...musicians true to the word I remember I would ask Mama whenever I heard you come in from school and ask if the band could practice at our house and when she said yes oh I got so happy yes I was still in the ponytails but I remember while you all were setting up outside to give a free concert to the neighborhood but at least that's what I called it back then for myself I just ask mama can I go outside and swing on the swings knowing all the time I just wanted to be closer to Quadro Fungk..... and yes y'all were playing that funk from Sara Smile by Hall & Oates Play That Funky Music White Boy by The Average White Band oh I used to close my eyes and just swing and swing and swing man I miss that I miss you brother I know that you were so ill your body but shutting down and you fought so hard you left this world behind at just 51 years Young mama was already up there waiting for you I'm sure with open arms now I'm 51 and I'm still caring for Dad his condition is progressing the dementia and Alzheimer's is taking over his mine slowly but surely and I'm trying to hang on God how I wish you were here with the light that shine in your smile in your laugh even through the pain that you were in I cannot imagine the emotional and mental and physical pain that you endured it before you took your last breath it's still hard for me I won't lie sometimes I'll hear a certain song or just music in general and I just start breaking down all I can do is cry sure I can come visit where I last so you laid to rest but I know you're not there your spirit will always be alive with me I know you still had dreams and hopes that you wanted to fulfill and I'm so sorry that you did not get that opportunity at least one last chance before you had to go God called you home to rest and I know God always knows best but the little sister in me still wants her big brother to be alive in the flesh and still making the music and fulfilling what was deep down in your spirit I will never get over you being gone until I take my last breath and this Earth will be no more for me either but I take joy in knowing that when I get to Heaven I will be reconciled with you big brother....
