I am a simple man, born and raised in the ways of Old, by stories ever timeless; word of mouth they have been told.
These stories tell of great warriors, great battles and noble deeds and how the all father seeks knowledge upon his eight legged steed.
They tell of not just goddesses and gods who are blood thirsty for battle, but also of fertility, good health and abundant cattle.
Some say we are "godless heathens" and that "our faith belongs in foreign land" but faith holds no borders and I need to count the gods with both my hands.
I've never stabbed at Kristjan's, never spoke a sore word against the Jews, I respect and dare say honor the Buddhists among you.
So how am I any different?
How is it my "faith of violence" is truly bad?
I've truly never wished illwill against any,
Even towards the enemies I have had.
Why am I considered "evil" simply because I do not agree?
This is one of the many questions that in my sleep does haunt me.
Have I not been patient, have I not been kind?
Have I not opened up to all the darkest corners of my mind?
"Greater love hath no man than this, that he may lay down his life for his friends" the bible says.
I've laid down my life for others who I've never seen, and still my honor you poke jest?
Your own book speaks of love unrivaled and turning the other cheek.
Yet in numbers you attack those of my faith in constant conflict you do seek?
And still we love you dearly, as all creatures of these beautiful realms.
So let us lay down our rifles and swords, take off our iron helms.
There only then can we be brothers, sisters or atleast friends.
When we shed the light of all the questions, illuminate the monsters looking around the bends.
Only there can we truly be what ALL our gods have wished us to be.
Yes, only then can every single one of us truly ever be free.
