Thank you; My dear foe,
Opportune lessons I now know.
Mysteries answered in scars I bear.
Yesteryear taught without care.
Pushed past the scar under my eye.
Another stepdad wanted me to die.
Sifted memories I block without try.
Thinking I yet live, oblivous to why.
People see me battered without teath,
Rendering impressions ill beneath.
Every stare judges as much as the last,
Segregated looks as they walk past.
Even with a broken scared childhood,
Nothing could break my inner good.
Try as they might, in a red neck hood.
Alas I break free of the broken chain
Never shall I forget alcoholics pain
Destroyed my child hood all in vain.
First to own land, and live life so full.
Understanding the use of every tool.
This broken generation shall start anew,
Under lesson my anstestors died to.
Remember, I face a world in my wake;
Every lesson made is so I don't break.
