Knowing you need to let go of someone
Weighs so incredibly heavy on your heart
It's the kind of heaviness that drags you down, both physically and mentally
The kind that feels so unnatural
Because you've held space for them
Prioritized them
Loved them with an everlasting love that doesn't just stop or go away
When someone has become
such a part of you,
It's really hard to imagine not having
them in your life
It's depressing to think about it
And the big hole that is left behind
Your head may tell you that
it's not meant to be, that it's for the best
But your heart...
Your heart doesn't want to
believe that it's over
Your heart doesn't want to let go
Your heart needs
some serious time to catch up
And honestly,
I don't even know if it ever really does
