I dreamt I lost you,
I'd never felt so alone.
The instant I woke,
I wrote you this poem.
Because there is something
I desperately need you to know.
Please read this thoroughly,
this is coming from my soul.
I've been alone for
most of my adult life.
Following my instincts,
going left ,instead of right.
Even when I was with someone,
felt like there was no one there.
Nothing to grab a hold of...
no one with whom to share.
Love, I need you to know,
I want you to understand.
I'm here for you (always)
I'm gonna do the best I can.
I'll always stand by you,
and never leave you crying.
I'll make your dreams come true,
or I swear, I will die trying.
That's my promise to you...
and one I intend to keep.
For so long as I live...
for so long as I breathe.
I know couples struggle,
and break up almost everyday.
It took me so long to find you,
I'm not gonna let you slip away.
There's no way this can be wrong.
I can't explain the how or why.
I just know that I love you now,
and quite possibly long after I die.
