Life held me down
Life held me down...
When life held me down,
I didn't know which road to take.
All I did was break..
I put my hand out for help, but no one grabbed a hold of me.
Blinded by fear was all that I was able to see.
And shattered was all that I was able to be.
I've been going crazy, I just wanted to die.
My moods went from low to high.
Something inside of me has died.
All I did was cry...
My family was right beside me
They were seeking help, so thankful for them being here.
Losing myself is what I've feared.
It upsets me seeing them go through this.
Being normal is what I wish.
I take out my guitar and strum away at heartbreaking songs.
The words are much to familiar but with each feeling, I get strong.
I scream out my emotions to feel the pain again.
With every feeling I let go.
The pain subsides, for just awhile these feelings end.
And in that moment, I felt whole.
My daughter at age 16 wrote this and turned it into a song. I fixed it up to a poem and added some of my parts today.
Shes 30 years old today and still struggling but is much more stable., its not her birthday lol because reading it back it sounds like I said she's 30 years old today.
She's beautiful, shes happy most of the times unless her borderline personality kicks in.
I found this poem the other day and I felt choked up. I felt like sharing it with her permission of course.
Thank you for taking the time to read the poem.
