“Light After the Beginning”
If life were truly a game of choice,
heaven would never have imagined earth.
They say the world began formless, void,
darkness folding itself across the deep
until the Spirit moved,
until a voice broke eternity and whispered, Let there be light,
and light obeyed.
From the overflow of heaven,
the earth took shape.
Then came a human
first Adam, then Eve, born from a rib
while Adam slept under God’s quiet breath.
Yet love stitched itself between them,
even though Eve was called
the daughter of the serpent in the tales we tell.
And now here we are
running, wandering, searching.
Working like ants, eating like elephants,
fighting to survive a world
that sometimes feels directionless,
a place without a lamp for the road.
But still
we hold onto the hope
that at the end of the tunnel
there is a light.
At the end of the tunnel,
there is a light.
