Lights from above tonight shines on my path
It shows me the mountains that I'd soon with part
I try to laugh but I fail in attempt
A growing sadness that looms over me faint
I promise myself a brighter thought and a better life
But I fear I am failing with the growing strife
I mean nothing to the world around
But I hope an effect I made to at least one person found
That would keep me going for a little while more
At least till I see the breath of the sun next morn
