I direct my attention to the stars
Massive they are in numbers
So high, out of reach
Sweet sounds of crickets chirping
I sit and ponder some recent events
Why did you try to destroy me
How did you fool me into believing you
Different, you never were

Why are they dim
Such beauty in the brightness
Are they dying just like me
Slowly fading into a weaker version
Still so pretty, but never shining like they once did
My loneliness takes control
I long for who I once believed you were
That person never truly existed

Never knowing how to find him
He was never mine
No matter how many times
He assured me I was
Loving you is pointless
You scar all that try
I look upon you
Where I once saw beauty
