Lonely road (sorry for the bad poem )
The road ahead is long
But still I travel along
Humming my favourite song
The direction may be wrong
But at least I have my bong
The journey awaits me
I traverse daily and nightly
Singing my favourite song on mp3
I'm unsure of what's ahead to see
Returning home is no guarantee
Trekking , I push onwards
Steadily , I go forwards
Careful to avoid any hazards
I will rest and relax afterwards
Cautiously , I move westwards
Sleeping , a bit here and there
Resting now is something rare
Did I just see up the trail , a bear ?
I hope I don't have to see his stare
I would be scared frozen by his glare
Foraging for berries and nuts
I managed to carry a few spuds
Through the forest and all the mud
Tripping and fumbling I receive cuts
To take this trip some say I have guts
After traveling across the country
My shoes are worn and I'm hungry
I arrived at my home town muddy
I left with the bare minimum , no money
To my surprise I ran into an old buddy
We caught up with each other
Him a family , car , a butler
But I , no job , no home , a sucker
I left behind a brother and a mother
Seems what I have is just a bummer
He offered me a place to sleep
And a good meal for me to eat
His house is on a busy street
His family were there to meet
I slept very early as I was beat
I woke up at sunrise to explore
Some of the same buildings as before
New things , people too , there are more
I would find a job for sure ,I swore
After many hours , I was hired at a store
My big adventure to return home
After decades , now I am grown
I felt like this is a place of my own
I managed this far as I've shown
With this trip my mind has been blown
