Lonliness of the Moon

I dance in the midnight sun
Bask in the glorious sight I've won
Just by bringing my wakefulness to night
I have seen the most glorious sight
The light is not it's own
Yet it takes it as such
I've put down my phone
To feel its chilly touch
The light she makes is cold
The path she follows is worn
The stars she accompanies are old
The sky is halfway torn
As she hides from our view
Another shall awaken
He is from whom she steals the light
But it shall not remain taken
The suns glorious glow
Seeps into the horizon
Like blood from an open wound
He hides dear Orion
I bask in his warmth
Not quite like the midnight chill
But as the red blends with yellow
I get quite a thrill
The colors ever vibrant
The stars ever fading
The birds are migrant
My last breath I am saving
I savor each touch
Of chill or warm air
It may not seem like much
But the cold reminds me;
She was there
