A title wave of guilt floods my concious
I'm grieving the loss of my wife
The night before her death
Our argument was grave
Lost in the heat of battle she left
I didn't say a word as she left
My anger overpowered my judgement
And sadly that argument was the last
Her death came to me the very next day
Now I'll never be able to smell her gracious perfume
Touch her silky skin
Or talk all my troubles away to someone who cared deeply for me
And the most treasured part I'll miss is hearing her say, "I love you."
In the mornings, noons, and evenings
The rest of my life I'll live with the weight of doing nothing
To prevent her from going out that night
Thinking back the argument was stupid
Only mere rambles of minor disagreements
With her death in mind
I'll tell myself I've moved on
However deep down I will never have truly moved on
From my one and only love
