What is love
Your parents tell you
the realization comes when you suffer in pain
Or when you get butterflies
and you can't control certain emotions
Your peers tell you to love thy neighbor
meaning you need to have sympathy
Love is both
it causes you pain
and can make you the happiest person in the world
but what happens when people use love as an excuse
Your parents say they yell because they love you
You siblings say you fight because they love you
Your grandparents say they show disapproval because they love you
Your friends say they pressure you because they love you
When really
they all say that as an excuse to get things done their way
Your mother she loves you but love can be forgotten
when the person is blinded by a force they have no power to control
Your father he loves you
but that gives no reason for him to walk away leaving you with thoughts in your head
leaving you to pick up the pieces of the picture he now has broken
Your friends they love you
but the love needs to come from a place where you have an opinion
not from a place where they love that you do what they say
Your siblings...
There love is the strongest
because when everyone else is gone
all you have left
is that brother or sister
because your mom used to say when shes gone all you may have is each other
now you are left here remembering her words knowing that those words are something that can now allow you to share a bond
