Love and lies on Valentine's,
A bittersweet combination of the heart.
A feeling of passion, wrapped in disguise,
As truth and falsehood play their part.
The sweetest whispers, whispers of love,
Fill the air with hope and glee.
But when these whispers turn to lies,
The heart is shattered, unable to believe.
The red rose symbol of love divine,
The card that says "I love you" with a grin.
But what if the words are all a lie,
And the heart is tricked, and left to spin?
In the game of love, we take a chance,
We trust and hope, and take the leap.
But when the trust is broken, and love is lost,
It's hard to pick up the shattered pieces and keep.
So on this Valentine's, as we celebrate,
The joys and sorrows of love we share.
Let us hold on tight to what is real,
And keep the truth and love always there.
