O love, love has laid thy stings on me
O love, love has made me a suckling at 18
O love, why hast thou left thy marks and signs tattooed all around my weeping broken heart.
I lay that heart to a desire to wait for as long as it's ready to retire
But then I let my leg waver.
Love whom I thought was a flower with little thorns turned out to be thorns with little flowers.
O love, why hast thou brought comfort, smiles, laughter and sweet memories to my door post
Making my heart beat like a traditional drum played with so much agony
Twice hast thou played those beats in me letting a deep feeling of guilt penetrate through that broken heart like a bullet targeted from afar.
And making that desire a distance I just feel at heart.
Lessons thou hast brought to my path.
Patience thou hast taught me.
To wait with smiles I can do now.
A promise to make that desire mine I will keep.
To lay my pen again without agony but smiles of achievement and write of how sweet a memory my love at 18 has taught me.....
