When Kathleen came home that night, she felt like such a fool.
At least she did not lose her cool.
It's not his fault that he Is missing out on knowing about his beautiful girl, she knew deep down inside she should have told him.
Maybe he would of come back, again.
How dare him not recognize her, at the bar.
How dare him say he is new in town, and that he lived out far.
He could have planted a better line then what he had said.
That line will never get her into bed.
That was the last time she had seen him again,
It's looks like it really is their end.
Years have passed and now kate is turning 5 years old.
She always asks about her daddy, and why he doesn't love her, a tear comes down Kathleen's face, from the stories her daughter has told.
She has dreams about her daddy, holding her in his arms.
And keeping her safe from harm.
Kathleen only wishes all this was true.
Only if Matt knew....
Kathleen thought to herself, would that of changed anything between them, if that day before he left, she would of shared the news.
What good would it have done, if he had to choose.
6 years ago, he made a choice that changed everyone's lives, and look who is paying.
Little kate, because she knows that her daddy is out there, and he is not staying.
Maybe he is just not meant to be her dad.
She doesn't know him, but she loves him, and that's sad.
Months have passed and school will be starting for little kate.
She was excited to make new friends, she couldn't wait.
She was lively and travel oriented, like her dad.
She said when she grows up, she wants to work in an airplane, Kathleen had to laugh.
That is something her dad would have said.
Kathleen thought, she had to get him out of her head.
So many questions that she needed to figure out.
Made her become weak, and full of doubt.
She finally realized that she must find Matt and bring him back to meet his daughter.
He needs to know that he is a father.
When she came home that night with little kate.
She saw a man sitting on their door step, it was almost eight.
He stood up and asked Kathleen if she needed any help, bringing in her stuff.
She looked Matt in the eyes, and said " don't you think I have had enough."
Little kate, looked up at the man and said
" Are you my father?"
He looked at her in shock, not expecting that from a little girls thoughts.
Kathleen said " Hi Matt, meet your daughter
kate."
He didn't know what to say except " why did you tell me this so late?"
Kathleen let him in, and they talked about all kinds of things.
He then went on his knees, and asked her to marry him, in his hand was a gold ring.
Matt tucked up his daughter into bed.
Kate said " Daddy, I love you, and I always had these happy thoughts in my head."
Matt told her that he loved her to, and he will never leave her again.
As he left the room.and went to kiss his love of his life.
He said to Kathleen " will you be my wife?"
She hugged him so tight,
She said " there is no way I am ever letting you go without a fight, you are the sunshine in my life."
