Love Is Not Innocent
Love is beautiful—
that’s the lie we tell first.
Soft words, warm hands,
a promise whispered before the fall.
It enters quietly,
then rearranges the soul,
turns strength into trembling,
makes kings forget their crowns,
and the fearless learn how to hurt.
The strongest mind can shatter,
not from weakness,
but from believing
love would never aim at the heart.
Yet somehow—
the broken rise.
The coward stands tall.
The ruined breathe fire again.
Love teaches the wounded how to fight,
how to turn scars into armor,
how to walk into fear
with shaking legs
and an unshaken will.
It creates.
It destroys.
Not because it is cruel,
but because it is honest.
Love is not the blade—
we are.
Swinging it blindly
while calling the damage fate.
Still…
even knowing the risk,
the cost,
the way it can leave you
empty-handed and full of ache—
I want it.
Because a life untouched by love
may be safe,
but it will never be alive.
