I once wrote a poem expressing something I never thought I'd feel again. A burning desire, the feeling of being taken higher. See this poem started out "Roses are red". still have it to this day. Never spoke of how I was feeling cause I thought it was dead.
I said it once, but the butterflies in my stomach got involved and died.
I learned to hate this feeling, at one point hated you too. But hated myself more for never being able to be the man you could never see. Or maybe it was because I was, But I was to scared to see, or believe. I told myself It wasn't meant to be. breaking my own heart more times than not. A few times having the courage to express to you how I felt, but never brave enough to pull the trigger. Lets face it, I was scared, to this day still am. Terrified of losing you as a friend, for always wanting more. Wrote more poems about you that you'll never get to see. For over a decade I held back on something I never should have. Trained my head and my heart to hold everything in. Sacrificing being someone better for you by hiding behind being who you remembered. "Same sweet Daniel", but with a little twist.
For one last time I express the desire, then go back to my selfish ways by putting out the fire.
You meant more to me, than I did to myself when we were younger. to this day still do. Seeing you after all these years only relit the fire, and brought back the hunger. I still don't know how to be the man you should see, still to this day don't know if I could be. Here I am writing this, and still don't know if I have the courage to show you. In my heart I think you know, and in some ways feel the same for me.
persude it once and intentionally blew it. Scared me thought you were to good for me, so I blew it. Once more breaking my heart, but for the better and I knew it. Whether or not I decide to show this, you were always my love story. The whole world knew it, and now you do too...
