A

Lullaby

I know how they stomp you down
With the weight of your heart
Because something inside of them
Is coming apart
You wish to leave in a lurid scene
Is what I ascertain
Bloodletting in answer to
A world's heart gone lame
Search through my eyes
These tears are not indigo
Bath water feels right
But it's not the answer though
Consciousness estranged
Choice tethered to the other side
Feeling no minute has worth
So do we all sometimes
So lie to me now
Tell me you wanna stay
Over and over and over
Till it's what you believe one day
Hope these allusions serve well
And Harpies never feast on your tree
This magnanimous light I found
Is bigger than you or me
I don't see your notion as weak
In fact I think you're strong as hell
Stick around for a while
And find out why yourself
