A

Maiden in the Mist

As evening fell and the glowing sunlight vanished
My heart felt bitter cold and sweet romance seemed banished
Alas when my hope had seemed to cave in
I heard the tender voice of a beautiful maiden
And as my eyes searched across the way
My heart melted by the sirens sway
And ne'er I'd seen a maiden so fair
Nor heard a gentler voice anywhere
Her hair was like chestnut, her eyes an emerald hue
Her lips were tinged scarlet, and that's when I knew
That romance had overcome me like the dew at dawn
What darkness was here, was certainly gone
My heart was pounding like a wild stallion
And I ran like lightning, to where she had been standing
But when I got there, she became like the mist
And I knew that maiden could never be kissed
For she belonged to the mountains meadows and trees
To men of romance who are still seeking their dreams
Yes...she belongs to the moonlight and the mist.
