On my mama's back,
I felt like the Queen of the house.
On my mama's back,
It felt like I was chilling on the clouds.
On my mama's back,
I felt like I was safe and sound.
On my mama's back,
I felt nothing could hold me back.
On my mama's back,
Whenever I cried her clothes would dry my eyes.
On my mama's back,
I felt warm and truly alive.
On my mama's back,
I slept when I was tired.
Until one day,
She put me down from her back and told me I have to learn how to walk through life.
Mum you shouldn't have put me down,
Life is hitting me hard,
I haven't even learnt how to walk I'm still crawling through life,
The world wants to take my life,
Mama please remember the child you once carried on your back.
I promise I will fight,
I promise I will try,
I promise I will give my best,
And if I get to the end,
I will carry one and put on my back,
I will become a mother who has to carry her child,
And I will walk with pride when people see my child on my back.
