In times of sorrow, we often seek,
A deity to guide our meek,
But perhaps the truth we often miss,
Is that in gods, we make our likeness.
Through trials and tests, we build a mold,
Of power, grace, and stories told,
A being that we can admire,
Whose strength and love, we so desire.
And in our depths, we seek a guide,
Who'll walk beside us, never hide,
So we create a god above,
That we can trust, that we can love.
But in this act of divine design,
We find a melancholic bind,
For in gods, we see our own face,
And long for more, in endless chase.
