A

marriage

As the candle melts, the room shines,
as the moon peeps, the dark slays,
as the sun rises, we all pray,
unlike my life where thy intervened
and I feel devastate.
Fire and gas cylinders are my acquaintance,
and I take well care of my tins and cans,
red chillies and onion peels
dare me not to cry,
and I wonder why did you even intervened.
I dreamt of holding a police lathi,
but ended up in making dry chappathi.
I have always been a determined and bewitching woman,
dejection and depression entangled me,
as because it's you who intervened.
when a night ends, the day starts,
when the rain settles, the rainbow paints the sky,
unlike my life, when thy intervened
everything of mine just paused.
oh my dear marriage,
I wonder why did you even come,
all has been changed, it's me being caged.
