MARRIAGE

MARRIAGE
Carry your own load
It is not mine to carry
We are all on this road
Mine is big, to be wary

Marriage doesn't mean slavery,
Nor does it mean stupidity.
I cannot die young out of bravery;
I'm not a fool for humility.

I love you, yes, it's true,
This I know in my heart.
But killing myself isn't something I'll do:
I love my life too much to let it part.

So tell me now before I walk away:
Is it my life you seek or my love and affection?
Is it my early grave or to brighten your day,
Because all I see in this "marriage" is a deadly infection?
